Accessibility statement
What we have done to make this site usable for everyone, last updated September 2026.
We want everyone to be able to explore MaP, whatever tools they browse with. This site is designed to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, Level AA.
What we've done
- Semantic structure: proper landmarks, one h1 per page, logical heading order and a skip-to-content link.
- Full keyboard operability, including the map's pins and links, with visible focus styles throughout.
- Colour contrast meeting or exceeding AA on all text, and information never conveyed by colour alone.
- Alternative text on all meaningful images, decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
- Reduced-motion support: all animation, including the moving match routes, is disabled when your system requests reduced motion.
- The full pair network is documented as accessible text, so nothing on the map is map-only.
- Text resizes to 200% without loss of content, and touch targets meet minimum size guidance.
Known limitations
The map and globe are drawn as SVG graphics, and their internal geography is decorative rather than fully screen-reader accessible. All equivalent information is provided in the pair listings beneath them.
